Okay, this is a weird one.
I have two monitors, one is an MSI MPG271QX OLED with a max (default) refresh rate of 360Hz. IF the monitor is at 360Hz and I either start the FGU updater on that monitor, or move it to the monitor while it is updating, my system gets a kernel panic and crashes. My fix has been to drop my monitor to 240Hz (or lower) refresh rate as nothing I do on the Mac really requires 360.
However, as more monitors are moving to the higher refresh rate, I thought I would make you aware of it, especially if others are suffering from this issue without knowing why. I'm also concerned that the Mac could reset the refresh rate back to default causing a potential crash if I'm not aware.
I am currently running
Apple M3 Max
macOS 16.6
