New update allows a whole chapter to be displayed as one scrollable page. Is there an option to make it like it was with 1 story entry per page.
I do like the new style for some campaigns, others i would rather have it the way its been for a while.
Can I change it?

It is the same for all books and all users; as a precursor for future features.

Tends to bog the system down if the story entries have a lot of pictures or maps. Thats why i asked if it could be disabled on some.

We'll be looking at some short term "hacks" to fix; but in the long run, we'll be looking to developers to streamline their modules to work better for a reader experience anyway.

For sure! I do like it but i have this one module i converted that has 42 rooms in it, and every room has its own mini map and encounters in each story board entry. All in one chapter. I loaded it up tonight and fantasy grounds had a minor heart attack for about 10 seconds. I do however like the feature for less busy chapters.
And I kinda figured thats why you put the dice sets in groups because on load it would go unresponsive for quite a while.

I already split my PDF Chapters into sub-chapters (FG subchapters are not the same as PDF sub-chapters) which speeds up loading times (check out my Savage Rifts stuff if you have it)

Is there a way to make the book remember your position when you close the book? I love having the book open vs. a bunch of tiny story windows because for as much as I love FG, the "window management" is really challenging when you have a ton of things open. When the book is open, however it does take up a lot of room on screen. Okay, I'll close and re-open it. Super easy to do if you put it in the hotbar. Nope. It always defaults to chapter 1, page 1.
Any fix, or should I submit a feature request?

I reckon that is on the cards since these changes are part of an update to make it readable on phones/tablets

As a (temporary?) workaround, if you minimise the window instead of closing it then it will remain in the same position in the book when you "unminimise" it again. In case you're not familiar with minimised windows in FG: You minimise windows using the button in the top-right corner of the window, next to the close button, and when you do so a small circular button will appear which you can move to a convenient location (I tend to move them to the right of the portraits at the top of the screen). Clicking the button or opening the book again - either from the hotbar or from the Books window - will then return it to its previous state.

I don't love the way FG minimizes stuff, but perhaps I'll see if I can do that. It's most noticable for me since I'm opening and closing the book from a hotkey (e.g. it's in my F1 slot).
I wonder there'd be a way to hotkey a window minimize command. Doesn't seem like you could off the top of my head though.

@JShadow007 you might try "popping" out the section of the book you are interested in and hot keying that. If you hot key the "pop out" it will toggle the window open and closed.

I loaded up the Pathfinder Bestiary reference manual and my fantasy grounds pretty much lock up no response for over a minute. I have a pretty good computer as far as power. Its really having problems loading 250plus monster pictures and stat blocks all at once. The manual is monsters a to z so its all of them at once.
I am not going to state this is better than before, I just wanted to tell someone I am no longer going to use them until this issue is addressed. Its a downgrade for sure.
Like a video game only renders what the player sees on the screen for performance issues, FG should only cache info the user is currently viewing or is about to view. Imo.

Have you updated? It is meant to only load a few at a time now on books like that according to a recent update. So even though the Bestiary has not been updated with subchapters to split that load up, it should not be doing that.
Otherwise, it definitely needs to increase the limit on the amount of pages it loads each time.

Yeah I did. Still loads 50 up and still unresponsive every time i click on an entry. Its likely the pictures involved in the bestiary.

Testing the official Pathfinder Bestiary book - going to the "Monster A to Z" section takes about 5 seconds to display the first page - Aasimar to Basilisk. Clicking the right arrow shows the next screen after a similar amount of time (5 seconds). Is the delay you're seeing still a minute or more like a few seconds? Can you provide examples of specific pages and/or steps that take a significantly long time?
