View Full Version : How to stop moveable UI elements from becoming misaligned when window changes sizes?

Hi, I've had this long standing issue with the FantasyGrounds UI where if I change the size of the window, the dice and modifiers tab seem to become misaligned with the bottom of the window.

Essentially, if the bottom of the FantasyGrounds tab causes the dice or the modifers to "hike up" then when you return the window to a larger size or full screen they will become misaligned with the bottom/top of the screen whether you have them locked or not. This is an extremely annoying and unintuitive way for UI elements to behave as typically they should be anchored to some part of the window itself when you lock them (top, bottom, left or right), but I can't find any setting to mandate this.

If there's any way to fix this, please let me know.

If not, should this not be considered a bug? I have used several applications such as GIMP that have moveable UI elements and never have I had this issue.

If you have moved the panels around, then they are no longer anchored according to the defaults built into the program, but set to the fixed position you have set them to (i.e. they are no longer anchored, other than fixed offsets to top-left corner of tabletop space). To reset to the default anchoring, you can select the Reset Position option on the right click context menu. The application does not support anchoring other than that provided by the rulesets, or direct override as offset from top-left. Any other organization method would be a feature request.

The best workaround for this is is to make sure the launcher window is the size you want the main FG window to be before you open the campaign. This means resizing whenever you update as it always defaults to the smaller size after an update.
