I'm a Savage Worlds GM and don't know nuthing bout no 5E, but I'm trying to get some friends to use FGU for their 5E game. One of them is looking at the 5e Legacy Players Handbook for Ranger/Beast Master/Exceptional Training under Books and it still has the old wording for the feature (ie: nothing about magical attack).
When looked at in Classes, Exceptional Training has the 2018 errata included that makes the companion's attacks magical.
Is this common where the reference manual version of a book is not updated with errata in 5e but the parts that interact with the character sheet are?

No, as soon as I become aware of errata (WotC used to sent such to Smiteworks prior to it being published in fact) I make any amendments to the books in question. And this is what happened with the 2018 errata and as you can see from the screenshot the Exceptional Training feature does, in fact, indicate that attacks are magical. So I'm not sure where you are getting your information from.

Here's my test:
Update Fantasy Grounds.
Load no extensions 5e campaign.
Go to Modules and activate players handbook.
From Modules open the Reference Manual.
Go to Classes, Ranger, Beast Master.
Here is the text for Exceptional Training within the Beast Master section:
64956
If instead of using the Reference Manual I go to Classes, then Ranger, then Beast Master, then Exceptional Training I see this:
64957
If instead of looking at this from the list in Modules, I use the link via Books I get the same as the 1st image.
If I go to Character, then Classes, then Ranger, then Beast Master, then Exceptional Training I get the same as the 2nd image.
Note that this is using Legacy.

OK, I see it now. Clearly the feature was updated but the text in the reference page wasn't. I'll get that fixed. Thanks for the report.
