Character restrictions: Only core options at this time. No homebrew.
Details: We’re currently exploring the third floor of The Pits of Brund, a dungeon-delving adventure module, nearing the halfway point. We aim to complete it before moving on to the next thing, which will likely be more Shadowdark. The existing party consists of an orc cleric to a god of light with the disposition of a juggernaut, an over-cautious goblin rogue, and a human wizard who can’t seem to stop touching things. They would like a person to run screaming into the dark ahead, setting off traps and drawing the attention of dangerous creatures away from their loot pursuits.
Maybe this could be you.
Broadly, this campaign is not intended to have heavy roleplay. Our aim is having fun getting killed in the dark—elevator pitch: Dumb and Dumber meets Final Destination.
As the GM, I often play fast-and-loose with the rules. I do a lot of improvisation and aim for fast and fun. Shadowdark RPG is pretty rules-lite, but if you absolutely have to have a game that strictly adheres to the rules as written 100% of the time, this likely isn’t your bag.
Additionally, a lot of juvenile humor using adult language gets thrown around. If four-letter words and gaseous anatomy frustrate you, this will be a very frustrating game.
