I noticed that when applying effects of the Darksight power to an ally NPC that it didn't allow them to see on a dark map. I've been experimenting a bit, and it seems that [$Darksight] will work on PCs and non-allied NPCs, but not on allied NPCs.
In a new SWADE campaign:
add a map; enable lighting
add a character to CT and map
add Construct Attendant to CT and map
add Construct Attendant to PC or Party "Allies" section, from there to CT and map
add effect [$Darksight] to all of them
Then enable player vision preview and select each token. The PC and the first Attendant will be able to see; the ally will not.
It doesn't make a difference whether or not the NPC is grouped or on its own initiative card.
The full Darksight power effect will ignore illumination penalties, but not grant vision.
Darksight (one hour) [Ignore #Illumination -4, $Darksight]
