New character, new game. New to FG.

Put fighting skill in for various weapons owned. When I roll it gives a -2 modifier for unskilled.

Where the heck did this come from? I even get it for dagger.

How do I get rid of it?

Thanks.

Did you check under the weapon tab to make sure it is set properly for ranged, melee or thrown? The roll should automatically reflect the skill die, ie shooting, fighting athletics etc.

Did you add Fighting from the Skills section or just add a Skill and call it fighting? Post a screenshot it might help.

Not being rude: just can't get into server as it's not up. When I can try it I will get back. Thanks.

No problem. On Discord you will get a faster response - ask in the #savage_worlds and #savage_pathfinder channels - https://www.fantasygrounds.com/home/Discord.php

Thanks worked it out: had named skill as 'Fight' instead of 'Fighting.' It only recognises the latter.

You can manually add a skill without taking it from the Skills list. However you must ensure you label it exactly as the defined Skill if you want to make use of effects or attacks that are based on the default skill.

You could have left your new "custom" skill called "Fight" and re-link your attack to that instead of using the default Melee Attack setup which assumes you have the default Fighting skill.

This is how you would enable any other homebrew type skills in the future, for whatever its worth.

Drag the Skills from the Skills sidebar.
