View Full Version : 2024 5E obsolete/updated extensions?

I have numerous extensions and modules acquired over the last ten years. With the recent conversion to 2024 5E, is there a location that I could go to see which extensions are obsolete, which have been replaced (by either FGU updates, changed names, or now absorbed into the Forge) and /or extensions that directly conflict? If this is not an appropriate thread for this, please suggest the best thread in the forums, thank you.

Moved to a new thread The general guideline is to only post in a thread if it is 100% relevant to your question/issue - it's fine to start a new thread if you can't find one that 100% matches.

I'm not aware of a place to get the information you're looking for. Extensions are created and maintained by many different developers. It would be a big task to track and test extensions for ongoing obsolescence and compatibility. It's basically a case of finding the extensions you're interested in, reviewing the information about each extension (usually in a FG forum thread for each extension) to determine if there are any issues and if they're up-to-date, then testing if the extensions you've enabled work together. The more extensions you run in a campaign the more likely you may encounter issues at some point.

Extensions from the FG Forge should all have a link to a forum thread on near the top left of the Forge page.

As Trenloe says, it's up to each of us to track the extensions that we use ourselves. When the Forge came out, I went through all my extensions and figured out which ones I wanted to keep using. All of those I moved to a sub-folder called Archive so that I could keep a copy of them if I ever needed them. Kind of like Spring Cleaning, every now and then it's a good idea to go through and vet and clean up extensions and community modules. If I were currently playing D&D I would have to do the same thing again about now too :)

Here is a list of all the exts I use, along with a tab that shows a lot of the older exts I used to use and have replaced with newer ones or that FG VTT has brought in as core.

This might help.

If you having issues viewing it let me know. Feel free to give this out to anyone also. I do keep this well updated. Anything you see that says "OneDrive" as location instead of FORGE or DMSG or FORUMs means it's a private EXT that I don't give out doing a function or custom edits on it.

Feel free to msg me in discord. I saw you post in Rob2e discord asking there too. Happy to chat and help.
