Ruleset: PF2 (Remaster)
Name: Sky King's Tomb
Day/Time: Tuesday at 6.15 PM UTC (usually for around 3 1/2 hours)
Frequency: Most weeks (i.e. usually not over the winter holidays etc.)
Video/Voice/Text: Fantasy Grounds Unity VTT (free demo version is enough), audio and other communication over Discord (no video), campaign management over Obsidian Portal
Total players: Currently four players
Players needed: We would be looking for one more regular player so we can keep the session scheduled if one player is not able to make it.
Some background about the campaign:
For new or experienced players. If you are not yet familiar with Fantasy Ground or Pathfinder 2, no problem, but you should be willing to learn at least the basics within the first few sessions.
We have been running mostly PF2 Adventure Paths since the playtest (around 20 books in six years) on Fantasy Grounds with a mostly consistent group. Currently, we have just started the second book of Sky King’s Tomb (Cult of the Cave Worm). The starting level will be five or six (Treasure for new characters (https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2662&Redirected=1)).
"Millennia ago, the dwarven creator god Torag shook the earth and called the dwarves to the surface in the Quest for Sky. Taargick rose from the hardships of this journey, becoming the Sky King of Highhelm. For centuries he ruled, creating monuments to Torag and the accomplishments of his people… And then he vanished without a trace. Invited guests of the clans of Highhelm find themselves embroiled in a story of seekers, survivors, and heroes discovering the Sky King’s Tomb."

From a review (https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder2e/comments/10bk8p4/which_adventure_path_should_your_new_to/):
“The Dwarven Adventure Path! The PCs make friends and sort out injustice in HighHelm before getting involved in a quest that will take them deep into the Darklands and in and out of several underground communities tracking down the resting place of a legend. All about Dwarves and their legendary past. This AP has a very strong balance of Roleplay, Skill Encounters, Politics, world lore, and Combat with a surprisingly nuanced take on Dwarven history. This is filed under “Good if you like the theme” because of the subject matter: The whole thing is about doing Dwarves a solid. PCs will need to be good in the dark, benevolent in their outlook, and like Dwarves, So appropriate groups only! You will spend the entire AP underground and never see the sun. Not everyone has to play a dwarf, but make sure everyone is cool with Dwarves before you begin (and at least a couple Dwarf PCs will help the plot a lot). Lost Omens: HighHelm will be almost essential."
It is a Paizo AP, so expect plenty of combat (maybe on average three combats per session). However, note that the AP is also lore heavy, so there could be sessions with only one combat (or none at all).
For more information (including how to apply) send me a message on Discord (search for the same username on the FG Discord; alternatively send me a DM here with your email included) and I can send you a pdf with the full details.
Player expectations:
You should get along with the other players (and the GM).
If you cannot make the session, no problem, but please try to notify me in advance.
Any uncommon or rarer player options (or third party materials) need to be discussed with the GM first.
Feel free to bring up any rule issues if it can be resolved quickly. However, if we can't find the relevant rules quickly we'll go with the GM's call. It's rarely worth it to spend several minutes during game time to look up rules.
Online games usually mean that there are less feedback mechanisms and I am not able to read thoughts. Direct feedback is therefore appreciated (what you liked, what you want to see more of, …).
Similarly, if you have issues with some content, be sure to communicate it to me (e.g. whisper an “X”).
While there is always the risk of technical issues, if you are using Discord or Fantasy Grounds for the first time, I highly suggest testing them out ahead of time (connecting etc.). Please note that for Fantasy Grounds, the server needs to be up in order for you to connect – which you’ll have to tell me in advance.
As mentioned, it is no problem if you are not yet familiar with Fantasy Grounds and/or PF2. However, please don't just start thinking about what you want to do at the start of your turn and try to resolve your turn quickly.
About the GM:
Expect me to have a German accent. I have run a fair amount of sessions using various rulesets, the vast majority of them online. Note that I will use Non-Remaster terminology at times. I usually address players by character name.
How to apply:
Please send me through DM or on Discord (my forum name is also my Discord handle) the following information:
1. Your timezone and a confirmation that the time slot listed works for you most Tuesdays.
2. One (short) paragraph about your familiarity with Role Playing Games, Fantasy Grounds and Pathfinder 2.
3. A (short) paragraph about your gaming preferences (e.g. by listing around three terms you have strong opinions on from https://philgamer.wordpress.com/2008/08/21/metagame-rewards-or-the-different-kinds-of-fun/ - the original Manyfold Glossary doesn’t seem to be online any more).
4. The word “pickaxe” somewhere in the application – the specific context does not matter. Please note that this is a mandatory requirement – applications without it will not be considered.
5. Your email or Discord handle.
