View Full Version : All players see Health bar updates 1 update delayed

It's been a very long standing issue in Fantasy Grounds that you would see your own health bar or health circle color 1 update behind so you'd think you'd have more HP then you do. However, now after the most recent update ALL clients are seeing the health bars delayed 1 update. And if you adjust your HP for any reason it will go back to full for all the players even if all you do is change it 1 point.

I'm not seeing this in the 5E ruleset when I run any of my test campaigns, or my personal campaign.

Can you walk me through the steps to see what you are seeing in a new campaign? (plus which ruleset, etc.)

Thanks,

We play utilizing Pathfinder 2e Legacy and Pathfinder 2e Remaster.

Basically if my token has 100 hp and I take 50 hp of damage the pip or health bar will remain displaying to me full health until the next time my health is changed. This use to be only an issue we have lived with forever for your own token just to you on your client. But now since the recent big update it will display it 1 hp change behind in time to all clients. We've taken to 'wiggling' our temporary hp for the time behind to make sure everyone sees it properly after taking damage or getting healed. This is exclusively to the player token hit point indicators, the combat tracker always tracks the health correctly.

It also exclusively effects the client players not the host GM.

Here is a visual example under the 2e pathfinder ruleset that has no extensions loaded. 64287 64288 Left is player client and right is GM instance.

I've mentioned to Trenloe; since I'm not seeing that in the 5E or 3.5E/PF1 rulesets.

Token pips and bars now properly update. We did notice in our session last night that the color in the combat tracker of the health numbers is still one update cycle behind. The number is correct it just is the old state's color. So for example you take half your HP in damage the number will be right but still showing as green in the combat tracker.

Please provide a screenshot so I know exactly which field to troubleshoot. Thanks!

Screetshot from when I noticed it during that session:
64336

Character sheet (left side) updated as soon as the wounds were applied, but the Combat Tracker as the player (right side) still shows green till HP updated again.

Thanks for the screenshot. I can't reproduce this error. How is the damage being applied? Can you provide exact steps please?

I did some testing and verified this does not happen in 5E, but does happen in PFRPG2 with no extensions running.

For all the screenshots below, the player window is on the left side, the GM window is on the right.

First testing I used the /damage 25 command and dropped the damage amount on a character with 100hp.

The GM Combat Tracker and Player's Character sheet both update at the correct time, but the player's Combat Tracker color is still a step behind. Screenshots below of damaging the character down to 50hp then healing them back to full. You'll see when the character is at 50 wounds the player's combat tracker is still green while the character sheet and GM combat tracker shows red. Then when they are healed to full the character's combat tracker updates to red while the character sheet and GM combat tracker correctly updates to green.

I did a little further testing after that using weapon damage and spell damage with the same results:

64344

64345
