Is there a way on the combat tracker to give players control over an NPC (ie such as a ships robot or a pet creature).

Not that I am aware. I haven't come across anything in the code to suggest otherwise.

Just the usual FG way - put the NPC in the CT, make the NPC friendly (change the faction from red H to green F in the CT), share the NPC statblock, and set the campaign option "Token: Party vision and movement" to "on" if moving the NPC's token on a map is required.

If the players close the shared NPC statblock, they can double-click on the token if it's on a map to re-open the statblock window. If the NPC won't be on a map, or a player needs frequent access to the NPC statblock, I'd recommend the player drags the statblock link to their hotkey bar.

OK thanks. I know there was a more direct way in the Rolemaster ruleset and was hoping there was here and i just missed it.

That's what I was referring to as the standard way is always there and available, but no direct automated support like most other rulesets.

There was an extension called Friend Zone that allowed an NPC to be assigned to a Player but not sure if it still works or works with Traveller.

It was on the Forge.
