I was in the process of customizing a skeleton from the Monster Monster manual that got the trait "Speed of the Dead". This trait gives the skeleton an extra 1d6 damage for opportunity attacks. However, then this effect has been activated on the skeleton it won't work when the Opportunity button is activated in the modifiers dialog window. Thus the damage isn't applied. If I remove the "opportunity" argument of the effect, it activates when I roll a damage roll.

best fix is maybe like the critical hit rolls, the game engine remembers the opportunity attack that hit and applies the effect when the character (or npc) rolls their damage roll on a successful attack.

See attached image. Only extension active was Map Parcel and player targetting.

Checking the 4E Effects Wiki, the DMG effect doesn't have the "opportunity" descriptor - so it can't be used with DMG effects. "opportunity" is a descriptor for attack actions only - hence it's in the "Attack" section of the Modifiers window and not the damage section.

The thing is I moved the effect from the monster description to the combat tracker, so it was parsed in the first place. I did not write in the effect. I probably should have specified that when I made the post.
