I can not get Syrinscape to work today. It did work a week agoo, but not now.
Downloaded the Online Player App again but that did not help at all.

You don't need the app to use Syrinscape in FGU.

Please provide some more details.

I moved these posts to their own thread as the thread they were posted in was not related to this issue. @Cozy - please only post in a thread if your issues is *exactly* the same as the thread you're posting in - otherwise it can lead to +mixed messaging and two different issues not getting the correct attention.

As @Jiminimonka mentioned - you don't need the online player, the standard FG Syrinscape integration uses the web browser based player.

Make sure you've gone through these steps here4: https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/2078932993/Using+Sound+Links If it still doesn't work, please provide details of exactly what doesn't work (give examples) and provide details of any issues following the Wiki page instructions.

You can try a couple immediate things as follows:

1 - go into options menu and make sure you didn't accidentally turn off the "enable" button in the Sound: Enable setting
2 - Open sound settings in FGU and click on the "authorization" button to make sure you still have your authorization key input
3 - if the above don't fix the issue and you have extensions turned on I would try a fresh campaign and see if you can get the sounds to work. If you do, slowly add back extensions until you find the one that might be conflicting.

It's so weird how it comes and goes. I also had issues with a couple of my players who could not get it to work. Wish it was simpler.

If, in your case, it works for some players and not for others then it'll be something local to their machine. It should just be a case of the player clicking on the invite link in FG chat (shared by the GM) and making sure that they click "Start" in the browser and that the browser is setup to allow audio for the Syrinscape site. It's just playing audio from a browser tab, so it shouldn't be that difficult to get going if it works for some of the players.

We have allways used the Syrinscape Online Player App running in Windows.

I saw that I had different Authorization codes on Syrinscapes webpage and in "Sound: Context" window (the button beside FG option button) and "Syrinscape" window (Under Campaign).
When I fixed that I got sound again, using the Syrinscape Online Player App.

If I do not start the Syrinscape Online Player App I don't get any sound except from the dices.

Under Options/Game I have Sound enabled and the same authorisation code in the setting.
Under Option/Syrinscape I have: Autoload module YES, Include speaker in trigger check NO, Player Type ONLINE, Trigger on hidden NO
So how can I get the sound to work without the Syrinscape Online Player App???

Click the "Invite" button to generate links in Chat - the GM sees both the GM and Player link, the players just see the player link. Click on the link to open Syrinscape web player in a web browser.

Thanks, never used it that way before. That will make my players and me happy again. :)

I've been doing it this way for a couple of years. It usually works, but yesterday a couple of players could not hear anything. It doesn't not happen often, but every now and again. I don't think I'm the only person who has had this experience. I'm not here to put it down, just wish it was easier to use.

Best to go through a bunch of checks with the players - check all of these, don't assume that players are doing the correct thing every time!
- Ask the players to verify that they used the most recent link (re-post to chat) and not a previous link. Also, as the GM, only "Generate" the session URL once. Not once per session, just once, ever, on your computer.
- Verify the players have clicked the green "Click to Start" button.
- Referring to the screenshot below:
1) Make sure the players have enabled audio in the web browser tab - for most browsers it will show an audio (speaker) icon in the browser tab when activated and playing. Verify that the player hasn't clicked on this icon and muted the tab - the icon will show a muted speaker.
2) If not, check the permissions for the site - this is usually done by clicking on the icon to the left of the URL in the browser.
3) Check that Sound is allowed.
- Get the players to check the browser tab - if it's showing grey it has been disabled to save resources. Click back in the tab and refresh. You may want to check performance/sleeping tabs/reclaiming resources settings for your browser.

If you can identify what's causing it, then that would be good.

I've found that depending upon browser and settings, sometimes the web browser won't allow sound to play from a tab that is not active. If players have an issue, one thing to check is to make sure their syrinscape tab is open and active.

Did today's update break the Syrinscape Integration? I use FGU almost everyday with Syrinscape and it just stopped working with today's update. Sounds won't play from the Sound: Settings or the Sound: Context menus. I have checked my Authorization and Syrinscape works when triggered from the web browser. I have also tried it with no extensions and an empty campaign and it still doesn't work.

I'm not aware of any Syrinscape changes, and it's working fine for me. Make sure you use the Invite button and use the link output to chat, and not a previously stored link.

I am also getting "Unable to fetch sound list; invalid response from Syrinscape server." when trying to do the Web Import. Could this be something that changed on the Syrinscape side?

The import works fine for me.

However, if I change the authorization key stored in FG to something that isn't valid, I get exactly that message. Double-check that the Authorization 100% matches the "Auth Token" in the Syrinscape Control Panel - check for spaces at the begininng/end, etc..

It seems to have been a transitory issue. I tried again this morning and everything is working now without my changing anything. Thanks for looking into it.

It seemed to be an issue with Syrinscape, I had the same problem on Sunday where I couldn't get any sounds to trigger from Syrinscape, but it was resolved by last night (Tuesday) and you could import again and trigger sounds from FG.
