Paint with image line tool making shapes

Ok, I should have found this already so I am sorry if this is a stupid question. Using the paint line image tool, it keeps my starting and ending points connected so that it creates an enclosed shape. I was hoping for just a starting point to end point, and not an automatic path back to the starting position. How do I turn that off?

Super weird. I logged back in and it is fixed now. The endcap option was shaded out before, but now it is selectable and I think that was the issue. I know I selected the tool the same way as last time, so I wonder if it was just a glitch.

Thanks for letting us know. If it happens again, try to capture as much detail as possible including steps and screenshots :)
