I've noted that with just the Basic 3.5 Rules module activated, there's no support for Prestige Classes. However, I also found a PFRPG Prestige Class Compendium in my list of modules, so I activated it. I'm considering adapting a D&D 3.0 setting which featured presitge classes - I believe it's possiblly the 1st to have supported them. The setting uses custom base classes and prestige classes, which are quite different from 3.5 & PFRPG.
So I'm wondering if I could use the framework in the PF Prestige Classes module, to build presitge classes that would work with some custom classes that use the same structure as 3.5 Base classes?
Note: While I own the PFRPG ruleset and some of the PF support manuals, I'm not interested in attempting to adapt the setting to PFRPG. The setting doesn't feature character archetypes -or anything like them- to name just one difference.
I want to have some certainty with this - if there's any hesitation or doubt that this would work, please say so. I've got other FGU adapations for D&D 4e and 13th Age started, but still on the backburner. So I'd be just as content to move on with them, than try a 3.0 adaptation with core 3.5 that's going to result in script errors, or other problems.
