Hello, I brought a group together to test some functionality and discovered a pretty big issue with the party sheet inventory tab.

Context: I play with a group of long-term 2nd Ed DND players, but the ruleset I am using is the 5e 2024 format. I say that to explain better that the moment treasure enters the conversation, they are very 'handsy' with a grab first and distribute later...or 'possession is 9/10ths of the law" kind of people. I understand some of this is user error(3 days into unity), Official content formatting, and system issues. I don't know which at this point, so this thread may need to be parsed.

The issue set-up: When I brought a parcel into the party sheet->inventory tab, they immediately started grabbing the coinage and dragging it to their sheet. They also started grabbing the items. Here were some of the logic issues that came up during this interaction:
1) it never subtracted the gold but instead kept adding coins to their character sheet...turning 12 gp into 96gp and then distributing the 12 when I hit the carrot.
2) The items moved ok, but there were duplicate items created. It could have been multiple people grabbing the same item or when I was typing the distribution name.
3) When putting items back, multiple quantity items needed to be dragged over one-by-one to be identified. It seemed to only happen after they were removed and dragged back into the party inventory.
4) An unidentified item still showed all the properties and descriptions of the magical item, though the title remained generic. So my Darts +1 had a "; magical" in properties and "Bonus +1" in the description. The whip had the full description included.
5) players can pull any number and drop it on their coins to add more GP. I bet this is broader than the party sheet, but one player realized they can drag the total party GP onto their GP and have duplicated the entire total on their sheet. IE: I have 1000 gp, and the party has 3000 gp. I drag it over and now I have 4000 gp, and the party has 7000.

Sorry for the long read, but this caused a big issue in inventory integrity in the game. Hoping it is as easy as a user error issue. Oh, and getting new players is not a fix ;)

Indeed, you can drag a number from any number box and drop it on another number to increment or decrement the number. Whether that is something players should be able to do is another question and I'm unsure if that is intended or not. Certainly you are the first to post about such a thing.

I can't reproduce an issue with unidentified items. Anything that a player drags in from the Party sheet stays unidentified once dropped into their inventory. To move multiples of an item hold SHIFT whilst dragging to take the whole pile (either to or from the party sheet).

I can't really test whether if more than one person grabs the same thing at the same time it will place an item in each inventory, but certainly dragging does decrement the number.

do you know if there is a way to lock the gold piece distribution or turn the coinage into text for the party members? I noticed that if it wasn't an input field it dragged the window vs. the number.

I think there is an option that restricts players from accessing certain parts of the party sheet. In the games I play in we can't pull coins from the party sheet, but we can pull items.

You need to use an ext to block players from editing their coins/treasure area.

I'm not seeing the other issues you posted about, maybe an ext is conflicting?

I do know that there is an issue that players can double up items if they drag out the item but not drop it anywhere and drag it right back on the party sheet. You need an ext that prevents players from adding things to the party sheet in that manner.

Thank you all for the answers. It may be a table rule to say that these features are convenient and not the guidelines. Then copy the inventory after every session to validate the following session.
