View Full Version : 5E Effect calc for off STAT skill rolls

When rolling a skill check that is not the default stat for a skill, it's not detecting effects that change the stat.

Example of this.

CT creature has +2 to STR "Growth Potion; STR: 2"

Creature has 10 STR; checking for Athletics check, it would be a +0 mod by default, + 1 with the effect from the CT of STR: 2. Giving the roll a total of +1 to the roll. (Non PRF).
If you do a Arcana check that normally uses INT; but you want to do a STR Arcana check, it is giving the roll a +0, not checking the bonus from the effect in the CT. (Non PRF).

Tested with no EXTs loaded.

That would be because the effect does not change the stat on the Main tab.

The effect is in the combat tracker, and has no connection to either skills or stat checks/saves. Would probably require recoding or an extension to do that.

That is not correct. This is a bug. You are partly talking about DISPLAYING of the updated stat in the main tab. I'm talking about the effects being applied to the rolls.

If you use a skill check and the person has a coding effect of + to a stat, the skill check works correctly using the new bonus from the effect of the state. It is only skill checks that are using a non default stat check that it is wrong on.
