Bring back Spell/Ability Damage targeting

Hello, FG v.4.6.6 (2025-02-20), using Pathfinder 1 ruleset (although I really doubt it's locked down to this ruleset)

There used to be an option to make Spell or Ability damage do it to Targets or Self:

Can we have this feature back? That would reduce my error rate of targeting myself to do damage, then forgetting to un-target myself when I'm doing damage to enemies (and more to myself, on accident).

Click on 'Self' next to targeting to change the targeting to 'Targets'. (This has always been the case; so it's possible I'm not understanding what the issue is).

Ah, my apologies. I saw it in your graphic but I assume that was what it used to look like? I'm not very sure about pathfinder.

That source is in the Pathfinder 2E forum, not for PF1e. And, yes, things like this are frequently specific to a ruleset, with this targeting option you show in post #1 being specifically added to Pathfinder 2e ruleset.

I don't have access to a copy of the PF1 ruleset from a few months ago, but looking at an older version I have there wasn't an option to change targeting for the damage action in that ruleset a few years ago. We'd need the FG devs to review and see if this has indeed been removed, or if it was never there in the base ruleset. In the meantime you can use standard FG targeting to apply damage to "self" - target yourself using normal targeting and apply the damage action.

That was never in the ruleset. Only heal and effect actions could ever be targeted to self automatically. I checked the source control logs to be sure.

Interesting, thank you. Strange to me that that isn't just an option for every ruleset. Not like you can never damage yourself.
