Changing computer

Hello,

Got a new computer (moved from MacOS to Windows), saved all my old Fantasy Grounds files online, installed Fantasy Grounds on my new computer, copied and replaced all the FG files and launched our campaign. In FG the campaign was maybe a year old? Characters were level 10 instead of level 15 and all notes, xp rewards, items etcetera were as old.

I still have my old machine and can re-install FG if required. How do I make the move to a new machine?

Your data files are stored in a different place from where the program is installed. In your old computer find the FGData files (click on the folder icon top left of the start screen) and copy the campaigns folder to the FG data folder in your new computer. It sounds like possibly you changed the location of the data folder at some point from the default place to a different one, since the files you are seeing are old, but clicking on that folder icon will take you to the correct place. You can also check where FG is storing your data if you go to settings from the start screen and then click on the advanced tab.

(Reinstalling FGVTT will not change anything in your data folder - so that will not help you find your correct data files)

The files I saved were from the folder I come to when I click the folder icon on the launch screen.

When I open the campaign on my old computer, the campaign looks like when last we played. When I open it on my new computer, it looks like it did a year ago.

Can you attach a screenshot of the contents of the campaign folder that you are seeing this issue with. Make sure that you switch on Details from the View menu at the top of the window before you take the screenshot.

It works now. Not sure how I managed to move a previous backup. Thanks for the support.
