View Full Version : What can I do to make a forge purchase update to my FGU Client?

Hello.

I've been a long time user of Fantasy Grounds, this is just to say I know my Ultimate license key has to be configured in my FGU client to link it to store purchases -- and it is. My account works fine (not to mention purchases from the Smiteworks store have zero issues updating to my account).

I recently got NPC Flavors , a free extension, from the FG Forge. Its checked of and enabled in my forge inventory list. The page even states that I "own" it. It never updates to my actual FGU client though. I've updated more than once.

So one thing I tried before posting this here, I tried for the heck of it to disable NPC Flavors on the forge and then re-enabled it.

Still its not updating.

I never see it in my list extensions and I've slowly scrolled through it line by line more than once.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

FYI - the store and Forge purchases are tied to your account name, not your license key. But that probably doesn't effect the issue here.

The extension is called "5E Extension - NPC flavors" if you can't see that in the extension list, check for a file called "npc-flavors.ext" in your <FG App Data>\extensions directory; get to <FG App Data> by clicking the folder icon in the top left of the FG startup screen.

Also make sure you are in a 5E campaign, it will only be available for D&D 5E campaigns.

The name's misleading, there's not a ruleset restriction for the extension.

Thanks Trenloe...so you are correct NPC-Flavors.ext *IS* in my extension folder . So FG forge did download it but , its not something that appears in the extension list when I load into FGU and I pick join a campaign or load a campaign.

What ruleset are you trying to load it in?

@LordEntrails, it says 5E but its for all rulesets. Just only 5E is supported.

@Mytherus, you will never see the ext list when you click "join campaign" that when you are going to connect to someone else and only the host has it.

As far as when you do "load campaign"
Lets make sure you have the correct version.

Delete the one in your ext folder.
Goto your inventory on FG FORGE, look to make sure it's listed there. (which you said you did already).
If it is listed there, disable and hide it. Update FGVTT.
Then go back into the FG FORGE and check the "hidden" tab on your inventory. Click "enable and unhide". Then update FGVTT again.

Check to see if it's on the list when you go to "load campaign" or create a new one. Best is to create a new campaign first just to double check ( would make 5E one ).
Also make sure you check below any exts you already have loaded as FGVTT shows loaded EXTs first, then starts listing EXTs that are not loaded in alphabetical order.
