I noticed it yesterday with 100+ extensions, but it looks like it's a problem today with no extensions.

5e - LMOP - Cragmaw Hideout (Player) map - panning the map (middle-click-drag) stutters... looks like maybe 15ish FPS. No tokens, NOFX, Lighting and LOS off.

Fairly high-end machine. 3840x2160 (scaleui 160%) 144hz - RTX4070TI. Task Manager performance doesn't show that anything is taxed... GPU encode around 27%.

It's also an issue (about the same severity?) on other larger maps... just watching the animated initiative indicator... the animation does not look smooth.

...as I'm about to post this, I'm realizing dragging any window in the UI has the same issue...

I'm not seeing this. You may want to try a re-install in case some file isn't working just right.

I think I found the problem...

Interestingly, a client connected on the same computer doesn't get this FPS drop...

Turns out I had ~50 basic story records open (hiding behind the CT)... was generating random encounters and forgot they were open... Closing them seems to have improved the situation.

I am curious though...

Does it make sense that having those windows open should degrade graphical performance? Are they being constantly redrawn even if not currently visible or being changed in any way? They each have ~80 words of text and a couple of links... no images (basic/legacy stories)...

I do still see this issue here has not changed... even just typing a single character causes all link icons in a story entry to flicker: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?83463-Link-Icons-Flicker-Disappear-While-Editing-Story-Records

Related issue?

For this "potentially related issue"....

If the db.xml is very large (say 45 MB)... it takes a long time to access it on a redraw... I'm wondering if it is accessed more times per redraw if there are more windows open so that the number of open windows ends up being multiplied by the size of db.xml somehow which results in the lag I was seeing.

Small db with many windows = little lag
Large db with few windows = little lag
Large db with many windows = many lag
