hello,

ill start by apologizing, im not very technically inclined!

ive been having issues for a while, but ive been putting off asking for Help because I assumed it would be fixed on the next update, or the next one, and so on.

firstly im running a MAC 1.6 GHZ Dual core intel core i5
8 GB 2133 MHZ LPDDR3
I have 43.46 GB of free space in storage

I only use the laptop for FG

for the past 2-3 months its been running slow even if im in FG without any players logged on.

when I have to do an update, I push the green button and FG closes, I then have to manually go to the updater and update, when the updater begins uploading it closes and I need to open it again. at that point it updates fully

Its very difficult to create maps because when I try to do the LOS, it won't let me place the dots where I need them or won't stop when im trying to finish a wall.

Monday things came to a head, after my players logged off the session and I saved the session and tried to leave, FG stopped responding and I had to force quit.

when I logged on this morning, so a player could give me some guidance on a lighting issue, I was forced to "force quit" again because of FG going NOT Responding when I tried to log out

at this point im afraid to log into FG because I don't want it to stop responding when I try and log out.

please help!
remembering that I know "next to nothing" about computers

thanks in advance!
Ron

I'd suggest that as a first step you uninstall FGVTT completely and reinstall it. It sounds like something in the installation isn't working correctly. Probably due to a recent update in the MacOs.

Your order history has your product code. Once you reinstall just reenter. I don't know much about Macs but my wife's old computer did not have a dedicated video card so things were a little clunky. So if reinstall does not work try this guide.

https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/1638006786/Reducing+GPU+Usage

You can use the vsync and imagequality chat commands tor educe GPU load.

Sorry, I reinstalled FG on Sunday and thought everything was better,
things were still a little slow (but faster than they had been

Was still having difficulty with LOS creation on new maps, but I hosted a session today.

things went slow, and I had to Force quit after saving at the end of the session?

Hope you can help

I moved this post to this thread so that we have some history/context to your ongoing troubleshooting - if you're still experiencing an issue previously reported it's best to continue in that thread so people trying to help know the history and context, which results in a more efficient support process (the same questions aren't asked again, etc.).
