So I run campaigns where players like to have backup characters and there was no problem with this until this most recent patch. Now whenever a player loads in, it seem as though it automatically loads up all their characters and releasing the character now actually removes ownership. Is this a new "feature"? Or is there some way to unselect character (so its portrait is no longer showing up top) while keeping ownership of said character? Or is this an unintended glitch of the new patch?

Thanks, that explains the automatic activation, but is the removal of de-activating characters without fully releasing ownership intentional?

When players release PCs, the ownership is released as well now. The GM can also clear on the Characters window for the campaign.

Is there a way to turn the "Automatic player activation of Owned characters when connecting to session." off? Without releasing ownership?

No, it's automatic that players take control of any characters they own now. This vastly simplifies the login process for the vast majority of players.

Looks like it's a no... honestly wish the devs would consider updating for greater overall compatibility as opposed to just simplification for "vast majority".

Anyhow, here's a link to vote on them (re)adding a feature to let us have multiple characters without having to have them active all the time: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featurerequests/featurerequests.php?titlesearch=5E%20Multiple%20Ch aracters%20without%20Auto%20Activation

Thanks for the link, added my vote. In multiple campaigns I have players that switch between characters or take on temporary characters, so having every single character they own displayed at top left fills up the space and is a general annoyance.
