View Full Version : 5E bug: FGU applies always the full damage of a spell even on a successful save

Tested on a new campaign, no extensions, only modules loaded were PHB 2024 and MM 2024

Casting Fireball on four goblins, the saving throws are triggered as expected; one goblin FAILs the saving throw, three SUCCEED; when applying the damage, all four goblins suffered the full damage instead of one full damage and three half damage.

Tried again with Cone of Cold and Burning Hands, in all cases the full damage is always applied even to targets that succeded the saving throw.

Not sure if this impacts it, but what do you have the option "Remove Targets on Miss" set to?

It's set on "multi".

I just tried changing it to "On" or "Off" and it doesn't affect the result.

This has been reported in another thread as well; and I can replicate.
