Anyone else having issues where you've updated to v4.6.5 CORE but when you're trying to join your friends server on their end it thinks it's the previous version?

It's only happening on my 2023 M2 Mac, my old 2011 Intel Mac was able to join.

Is this a version glitch or some new Mac problem? It's super strange. I've tried everything restarting, closing a re-loading the game, finally I uninstalled and re-installed the app from the website directly (The host also closed, restarted, re-updated).

Every time it thinks I'm on the earlier version on my friends side and won't let me join and says to update. I've obviously also tried hitting update, but it says I'm on the same version as him on my screen.

Any solutions?

Sounds like you have two installs of FG on your 2023 Mac. Search for fantasygrounds.exe and see if you find it in two or more places. Also check your shortcuts, make sure it's pointing to where you think FG is installed.

There aren’t .exe files on Mac’s. But I checked and there’s only one FantasyGrounds.app in the applications folder and no duplication of Fantasy Grounds folder / campaign info either.

Someone else with an Intel Mac was playing and they were fine as well. I’m wondering if the latest update broke something related to the apple silicone?

Again I completely removed FG and then re-installed it so I also don’t think it’s my issue I think it’s a problem with the update?

On your FG launch screen does it show 4.6.5? You might also try Compiling Logs and attaching here. Maybe something in there to give us a clue.

Make sure everyone is getting the same version reported in the FG launch screen.

I definitely confirmed we were all on the version I listed in the title. Especially the DM/host. But he said on his end my version listed as outdated. Except on my end it was the updated version.

You mean post the entire Zip file? I'm reticent to post a whole log file only in that I don't know what's in there that could give away personal details (IP address or something?) Can I send them to you directly? If not the zip file but one specific log, which one?

I tried looking through them but I don't know what I'm looking for. It's Definitely the version I posted in the title, and I confirmed the DM had that version as well. BUT on his end it was saying in the chat window that my version was NOT the most recent one. Even though I verbally confirmed it was right, his end it wasn't. That's why I think it's some kind of weird glitch in the code of this version?

As a player it is the player.log and player-prev.log that would tell us the most. They do contain your local network IP, which is really not a concern since that is only the IP for computers on your network. But, you can remove the line that contains "Starting private server mode" if you would feel more comfortable.

So, I didn't do the log from that night, and I'm only seeing the date from yesterday since that's when I found the log export in settings. Would I have to replicate the issue and have my friend log in to get this to show the right info?

Anyway, I've attached the logs. Thanks.

It's all reporting the correct version. I guess I would need to see a copy of the error message that the GM is seeing when you connect. Maybe they're on an older version and not you?

On Windows, the GM can get a quick screen clip using the Windows+Shift+S key shortcut combination (which owns the Screen Clipping tool).

They did check and update themselves, plus no one else joining had the issue. It's super odd. We meet Fridays (we skipped last week but are meeting this week) so we'll be able to test it again, I'm guessing by then a new update will happen (or two) and it will resolve itself. I had hoped the programmers would be aware so it doesn't happen again.

The DM is super not-tech savvy, but the rest of us are so we had him do all the updating again and all of that, he logged out closed the program, etc. nothing seemed to work except me loading an old computer and running off of that. So I don't think it was on his end either.

If it happens again how do I get his info, do I go to "host log" or something? or a screenshot of the error in the chat-box?

Have him open the console and Compile Logs. Details here: How to Compile Logs - Fantasy Grounds Customer Portal - Fantasy Grounds (https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/1242136781/How+to+Compile+Logs)
