Good day. I have attempted to connect to a friend's FGU game using OpenVPN and it fails to connect. Just hangs there when I search for his name under "Join Cloud Game" as well as "Join By GM Name". My OpenVPN utilizes my NordVPN account. I have tried this using both a dedicated IP address as well as a NordVPN issued dynamic IP address with the same results. Log file shows a "Failed to connect to relay server". Linux OS. Anyone else run into this particular issue?

Thanks,
GBFF

Most likely, you won’t be able to use VPN and Cloud game connections. The GM would need to set up via LAN mode; and then provide IP provided by VPN to connect to.

VPNs deliberately segment network data, and the lobby server doesn’t know anything about your VON connection.

The strange thing about it is that when the VPN/FG is used in Windows (as opposed to Linux), it works. Don't know if it's something in Linux that is blocking it (no firewall up). I'll dig around in the logs between the two OSes to see what is different.

Yeah, Linux has all sorts of gotchas, so not surprised. I actually recommend against running Linux in a desktop environment, if you do anything with entertainment software.

90% of my job these days is spent in Linux, and I only keep a Windows machine in order to access my workplaces O365 stuff. Linux has come a long way since I first started using it. Regardless, I figured out a workaround for the issue. Thanks!
