how to use vehicles

i have the vehicle sheet filled out.
go to crew tab and add new.
select pilot icon.
i see a line there, even a portrait bubble, info, etc......

but for the life of us, neither i, nor the players, can figure out how to add a player character as pilot / passenger.

EG. we have a forklift. 1 pilot position. the forks can be used as weapons vs the boss creature they are fighting. we can of course, do all this manually, but we were trying to figure out the automation.

what do we do? we tried dragging player sheet link into vehicle. tried dragging vehicle link into player sheet / combat tab / (click on weapons to get vehicles) but can not add vehicles there either.

it seems, the only thing one can do, i COMPLETELY recreate the player character, in the vehicle sheet??? nah.

There is a Vehicle tab on the partysheet. Once the vehicle is there, on the Combat tab of the character sheet, click the Weapons button to switch to the vehicle management for that character. They can assign themselves to the available vehicle and can change their position in that vehicle and gain access to the actions for that position.
