I only noticed/tested in the 5E ruleset but it is likely a core ruleset issue.
1) When a player with more than one character draws a "quick" pointer it deletes the pointer(s) of the other character. Likewise when one character deletes pointers it deletes the other character's pointers too. Pointers should be unique by character not by player.
2) When players have pointers on a map image, if the DM shift drags an NPC from the map with the pointers to another map - all the player pointers are deleted.
