2e Advanced effects questions

I am getting ready to run a AD&D 2e campaign after a long time using FGU 5e. I am used to all the automation and want to add some of that to my 2e. I am trying to learn how to add in favored foe for a ranger character. I found some guidance, but when I test what I have entered into the advanced effects area of the ranger, he does not get the +4 when combating his favored foe. any ideas?

Did you try with a space between TYPE and (orc)?

This works for me:

IFT: TYPE (orc); ATK: 1

Of course, it requires that the enemy has the Orc type, which could be the issue too.
