I'm trying to figure out how to automate spells like the new Bone Spear focus spell for the Necromancer playtest where the initial damage is different from the heightened damage. For example, Bone Spear does 1d8 piercing damage, but does 2d8 piercing damage for each additional spell rank for which it is heightened.

Any thoughts?

When you drag the damage roll initially can you right-click to add the additional upcast damage die?

Add damage entries to the spell as follows:

Thank you! I didn't think about using a negative number in that field!!!

Have you managed to code a custom necro? Is there a mod I can use?

I have coded the whole necro. But it is full of errors at the moment :) I intend to release it for free on the FantasyGrounds Forge once I have the errors fixed / tested. Maybe a week-ish?

I'd just do it like this:

([2d8] x Odd CLs) -1

Saves a full line and is easier to track when looking at it :)

Update: I have the modules ready to go... just waiting for Paizo to (hopefully!!!) give me permission to post them :)

While of course it's polite to ask, my understanding of the ORC that is that you don't actually need Paizo's permission as long as what you are posting is all ORC-covered material.

Trenloe will of course correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's basically the whole point of the ORC, really. :)

I thought so too, and I had included the ORC attribution in my module story entry, but my Forge module was still rejected by SmiteWorks. I don't mind - I'd rather be safe than sorry!

That's interesting. I wonder why? Possibly because it's Forge specifically, there may be additional rules in place.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that you are allowed to share the module publicly but not on Forge, in that case...
