FG License:*Only the Demo License (free) is required; I own an Ultimate License

Planned Duration & Frequency:*3+ Hour Sessions (often 4 hours), ran Weekly (except on holidays)
Term:*Long term; the goal is to complete the AP.

Roleplay & Combat mix:*50/50 Roleplay/combat; not a hack’n slash campaign.
Number of Players Needed: Have 5 players, currently 2 open slots available.
Character starting level & equipment:*1st level (0 Experience Points), Standard gold pieces are rolls per specific class from the Core Book (or as listed for non-core classes.
Character restrictions (no exceptions):*Any non-* (asterisked) races and any classes from the following authorized books.

Players may also use the Giantslayer’s Player’s Guide (free from Paizo) and any resources suggested (for players) within in this book.

I do not use home-brew material found online or created by players. I am not running a home-brew world. Any house rules and option used will be explained. I only reference Paizo PF1 materials, I am not including any third-party materials regardless of source type. Game is RAW. I don’t change rules without careful consideration of balance.



Details of your scenario:*This campaign is played within the world of Golarion in the year 4711 AR. The Giantslayer Adventure Path takes characters from 1st level to 17th level. This journey takes place within the orc dominated lands known as the Hold of Belkzen. Players begin in the town of Trunau, either as residents or new arrivals. Trunau lies within the borders of the Hold. The town have resisted the might of the orcs for many years. Come join a group of assorted aspiring adventures.

Players should read the beginning pages of the Giantslayer’s Player’s Guide prior to creating their characters. Non residents of Trunau should not read the sections that details the town and its people (i.e., Trunau Gazetteer).

This group’s players are mainly a bunch of players over the age of thirty.


We are looking for mature players, 18+, who can regularly attend.

(7 players will be my absolute max).

I’m looking for players that can get into their character’s role. They should be team players, willing to consider the groups needs and composition, prior to creating their own character.

The following types of players and character concepts that should not apply:
Under aged players, uncooperative players (or their pcs, not a solo game), murder hobos, rules abusers, cheaters, argumentative or disrespectful people.

Also, players who have already read, played, ran or watched any version of the Giantslayer AP, are not welcomed. If for any reason I get the feeling you’ve either read, played, ran or watched this AP, I will have to kick and ban those who come into the game under false pretenses.


Warning: This is a game for mature audiences. Adult subject matters will be covered in the campaign. Issues like sex (non-x-rated), violence, substance abuse, use of profanity, and other matters deemed totally unsuitable for children or adolescents should be expected. This game would be Rated NC-17 (Clearly adult. Children are not admitted).

Disclaimers: I am not an experienced Pathfinder or FGU GM. I have been running many ttrpgs for many decades, but I am new to the game system and getting familiar with the platform.

Current Party Composition: Arcane Archer, Hunter, Inquisitor, Rogue and Fighter
Current party would love to add a character to be the face of the group (like a Bard) and a Cleric, but new players are free to create a character that will help fill in the groups holes or sure up more strength in another area.

I just realized that my response sounds like a scam hook. It isn't. I prefer Pathfinder 1E to D&D 5E, but P1e groups are hard to find. I have played the Carion Crown AP to the end, and am currently playing Rise of the Rune Lords, but have never played the Giant Slayer AP.

First of all, I want to point out, to everyone, that my campaign hasn't been going on for years. It hasn't been a year, the campaign is still fairly new. We're still in the first book of the AP. I have not abandoned this listing. At the moment all of my slots are filled, each player that ended up being recruited read through my entire listing which describe how to contact me. I also, don't always respond to players in this forum, instead, my usual response is to correspond via dms.

If you are new to FGU and wish to recruit some players for your own campaigns, I suggest that you create your own listings., I don't think it looks friendly trying to fish for others through the listing of others. If you wish to use other's listings as a recruitment method, a better way to do it, would be to click on the players' user names and send them a private message. This way, it doesn't look like bad, and the original posting DM doesn't get a message like I did, which made a false statement about how long my AP has been going and that I have abandoned my listing. Happy New Year and I wish you the best in your recruiting efforts. Oh, if you have Discord, FGU has a Discord as well, it's another place you can pick up players.

1# I think Wychfate was trying to be helpful to me, for that they deserve a thank you.

2# I apologize for wrongly claiming the message board thread & campaign was probably abandoned.
Maybe I got mixed up with another thread/campaign.
I see the post I wrote was more than 24 hours ago. I am not sure what I was thinking but have a theory.
While people can see I set up my account close to 1.5 years ago, that was due to a POTENTIAL game that I never followed through with.
In actuality, I am new here because I have not looked at FG since nearly right after creating a free account back then.
Now I am looking around more after buying the Holiday discount Ultimate license and getting a new computer that is not slow as hell on the internet. As a "new" person, I think I got mixed up with the post date of the thread and the account join date under WychFate's name, hench thinking the thread/campaign was years old.

3# I have multiple topics I could argue about but in belief that Wychfate was actually trying to be helpful to me, I don't think it would be nice to argue those points. I also think arguing them would be too anal of me nitpicking about stuff nobody would care about or want to read more on. You can already see I tend to write too much but I am trying to practice stopping sooner.

Yes, I was not trying to be toxic. I'm too old to want to argue with people, I'm from the older generation of gaming and I try to have some etiquette when it comes to posting messages online. That said, I also believe in providing solutions to problems than just complaining, thus I listed some ideas of going about finding players. I host games on several VTTs including FGU and I run a lot of games, so I do have some experience with recruiting online players from many sources online. I hope and wish you the best in your gaming. I wouldn't have taken the steps to mention to a person who seems new to FGU other ways to find players as there are multiple sources.

I do accept new players to FGU for this campaign. Sorry, currently there are no openings available. My usual process for are usually done using my suggested ways of contacting me in the listing. That said, I generally ask players questions about their experiences in both FGU, the game system and roleplaying in general. Besides that I like to know a little about who the player is, a general brief introduction that includes what type of gaming styles they enjoy and dislike. I also ask players what kind of overall gaming experience they are looking for. In the above cases, I don’t ask players to list that in the Forums. I prefer more privacy for the player and myself.

As of today, we have two available seats for our game. Since the group still has 1st level characters, any new players will begin at 1st level with 0 exp. The group really needs a couple of fighter types (as they have lost their only fighter). My seats tend to fill up fast when I list them (as I use several media outlets), so if you see this send me a message about your interest and a little bit about yourself. Please include what type of campaign you're interested in joining as well the types you have no interest in participating in.
