I have a character (DM controlled) with an animated token (webm). It worked fine prior to the update. Now it whites out the character token and you can't move the character.

Can you compile your logs and post here; the devs may also want to see your campaign so if you can zip that up and put it somewhere like Dropbox and post a link.

New Campaign I keep for testing with no extensions loaded. No errors being thrown. You can see the token turns white and also has no border. You are unable to drag and move the token with a mouse. When you right click, it does not register as a token. Again, this worked a few days ago prior to the update.

Have a similar issue. I use the generic action layer extension and some transparent images which were working fine before have started flickering since that update.

Can you provide a zipped up copy of the campaign folder and images being used; as well as the names of the maps where you saw the issue?

Thanks,

I have reproduced this bug in the 2024 Tutorial 5e campaign, with the big Portrait extension then without this extension. The token with webm image cannot be moved nor erased from the map. It becomes white if I place another token from the combat tracker. Using Phandalin maps.
Note that the animation on the token is flawless with no map opened, but starts stuttering when I open a map. Same thing with dice use: no problem with no image opened. But some freezes with an opened map.

I have the same issue possibly: 62710

I unloaded all extensions, still having this issue. The log is prior to unloading all extensions.

Thanks

Can you please provide a copy of the animated token that you are seeing the problem with? Or the folder/name of it if it is from a store item?

Thanks,

Just pushed a new hot fix from Carl to fix tokens automatically generated from animated portraits. Please run a new Check for Updates, and try again.

This is better than it was, but there are still issues. I still can't move the token with a mouse grab, it does move with arrow keys and only on that player's turn. Right clicking the token still does not show it as a token. The image is now working and not whiting out.

If you manually resized rhe image after opening, close and reopen and the tokens should be grabbable. The is a pending change that with fix this issue.

If you are having this issue without resizing the image, or if this is only happening to one token, we will have to investigate further.

Here are 3 cases of inconsistent image display. All cases were working fine with transparency prior to this last major update.

Link to files
https://1drv.ms/f/s!Auo-97oUegzGoZVPiq2g11bI4R9Umg?e=FQfOUO

1) Animated Bat
- Shows properly without a background in Assets and when an encounter is added to a Map
- Shows a white background in Encounter and Combat Tracker

2) DefaultDamage (blood splatter)
I use this image with the Generic Actions Layer extension and it shows when a target takes melee weapon damage.
It now shows a red background.
- The screenshot provided shows the same behavior in image Preview
- The screenshot provided shows it properly without the background in the Assets
(A lot of the images used by the Generic Actions Layer extension now have a background.)

3) Shockwave
I had this image as a transparent Tile on a map. After updating to the latest major version it showed with a background on the map.
Removing the tile and re-creating it after the upgrade fixed the issue, but something got broken in-between.
As for the DefaultDamage:
- The screenshot provided shows the same behavior in image Preview
- The screenshot provided shows it properly without the background in the Assets

Thanks for the assets. I'll be taking a look at those now.

This problem is fixed since the last release. webm tokens can be grabed, displaced and erased like all other types like webp or png.
Concerning all my campaigns there is no more lags or freezes. Memory is no more going wild and is stable even with a lot of images opened.
Thanks for all your fixes in such a short time.

Moving seems indeed better, but the transparency issue withe the sample files submitted yesterday remains.

Your bat and my personal webm tokens are working flawlessly in the 5e tutorial campaign on my computer.
The bat is also transparent on my last test, after putting it on Portrait and Token-Flat.

Do you mean that the background of the bat should be transparent?

Yes, if you look at the screenshots I provided, in some windows they are transparent and in some others a background shows. These assets were transparent everywhere before the update.

This us particularly apparent when using the Generic Action Layers extension, which now shows some of the assets with non-transparent backgrounds on the maps.

Sorry I edited my response just before your answer... For me the problem disappeared with your bat after putting it on Portrait and also on Token-flat (doing it manually on both). The bat was before on a white background. It is now on a transparent background on every map I tested it with (4 or 5 of the Phandalin campaign). I don't have your extension though.

And,yes, I can confirm that your 2 explosions are behaving strangely. They appear normal on the Assets window. But are no more transparent when used as a stamp.

Here is another screenshot. This is the same asset.
- The lightning bolt without a background was added as a Tile on the map.
- The lightning bolt with a white background was added automatically by the Generic Actions Layer extension once the damage was rolled (the extension creates a temporary layer on the map). Before the update, there was no white background.

62761

This is from a new test campaign created to illustrate the issue, but it occurs in all my campaigns.

I think you got it right. Looks like the extension creates a stamp.

With today's update, the stamps bug is back - animated images have been reverted to be non-transparent.
- Transparency ok when image used as a Tile
- Transparency lost when image used as a Stamp

The images in the link I submitted the other day can reproduce the issue.

I was about to start a thread and then I found this. I use stamps all the time with animated images to decorate the maps, but since the 4.6 upgrade the transparent backgound is lost.

The last few updates had to be rolled back. The next release update should fix the transparent webm rendering.
