View Full Version : M&M: After adding a new skill to the list; it can not be added to a character sheet

I'm not sure if this is behavior that just isn't allowed in the M&M ruleset like it is for other rulesets.

But I was poking around familiarizing myself with ruleset. I added a new 'custom' skill to the skill list. If you drag it to the character sheet, nothing happens.

I tried adding a new skill directly on the character sheet with the same name and then with a different name and if you click on the 'link icon' no window pops up and a new line is created in the chat window. So even if I manually create a custom skill directly in the character sheet, I can't edit the text/description this way either.

I responded to your other post in the bug report thread.

The new build should be available on the TEST server if you would like to try it out and see if that is now working for you.

Still doesn't appear to work.. Tested on v4.6.0 ULTIMATE (2024-11-23) [TEST]; M&M3e (2024-08-13); CoreRPG (2024-11-19)

Is there a specific spot that you must drag it to? I know I've seen in other rulesets if you're off by a pixel or two you get not what you expect.

I'll circle back and have another look. With the cleanup, you should be able to click the add button on the bottom and type the name of the skill. This will link to any created skills. You may need to share them with the players if they are campaign only.

Ok, if you manually type the name of the skill it does indeed link it. I was expecting you could just drag the skill from the Skill List over to the character sheet like you can in other rulesets. I don't know if that is the intent or not but if manual typing is how you're supposed to do it in M&M then, that at least now works on TEST.

I mentioned I would look at the drag and drop, but wanted to give you an alternate route for the time being if you weren't aware of this other route.

I was not! Now I am. So good enough workaround in the interim, thanks!

No problem, I'll post here when I have found a solution.

The next TEST update will have a fix for the skills not being able to be drag and dropped.
