This was a d&d game played out over the past 2 years and has now been adapted to 2e pathfinder custom maps, scenarios and story
basic 2e pathfinder knowledge, very good to advanced FGU knowledge, times available 00:00 GMT 06:00 GMT Saturday and Sunday, (maybe Friday)
I'm still new to pathfinder 2e, story-based gameplay, good sound combat through the FGU, cuss free GM (you are welcome to play as you wish) fantasy descriptive world R17
for 3rd level PCs (finish levels 7-8) level up 1 per session regardless
movement
As per the pf2 rules 1 square = 10' and full movement rate per action
skills
skill rolls are as per the rules
e.g The level 3 Hovener the halfling and Haggeroth the human fighter have made there way through the forest to a cliff, Hovener take his 3 actions he takes a good look at the cliff and rolls perception to see if it can be climbed? the roll is made (percept +3 at level 3 easy on the GM chart , 16 required to succeed) he rolls a 15 with a total of 18 success
The Gm explains that the path to the top is 10' high and an easy path this will require x2 easy athletics rolls to make it to the top, he decides to make it to the top and roll x2 successful athletics rolls making it to the top.
Haggernoth take his turn instead 'going at it like the bull headed barbarian type he is' looking at the halfling easily making his way up he wont stop and think and begins to climb the cliff, the GM on his first action gives him an easy roll that he succeeds in making it 5' up the , he decides to continue and the GM gives him a slightly harder roll that he fails making him stuck 5' up on this cliff, he now has a choice he can choose to continue up with a roll or make his way down with no roll required , he decides to continue up and fails the roll, this triggers a consequence of sorts either part of the cliff gives way or he falls or something similar, he fails a reflex save and drops to the ground taking no damage, the fighter is unharmed but is on the ground as he looks around to see some creature starring at him from the forest edge and draws his sword.
we are playing around with a x2 failed skill rolls in a row triggers a reaction , this is to give the players a chance to think about what they are doing before rushing in on bad actions, still playing around with this.
combat
This is done through the FGU , once combat initiate is initiated only the character's within line of sight go to the combat map, any other party members outside line of sight can join after + rounds = to PCs in combat, the combat makes use of the FGU combat table and the 2e rules
This is not a society game and these are some fundamentals we are using to play this game on the FGU and pen and paper, and by no means is intended to change this interesting and great game of pathfinder 2e and beyond that my team and i are learning and enjoying
PM interest if you would like to join this type and style of RPG
Thanks to everyone helping with this we have some solid maps now and the rules seem to be coming along, looking at a more fixed game in the new year :-)
battle map = 1 square at 10' per space
village fort large map = 1 square at 100' per space
