Fantasy Grounds Ultimate License bought via STEAM does not want to Upgrade

I have had a free account (updated to 4.5.10 today) and the key I got through steam does not work. It says that the ley is invalid or used, and my account is still considered Free.
So feels a bit wrong to have thrown out $50 on something that does not work


how to fix it?

When you buy from Steam you should get two keys one for a Standard license and one for the Ultimate license (since steam treats the ultimate upgrade as DLC). So make sure that you are entering the correct key in settings when you update FG. You can find your Steam keys by right clicking on Fantasy Grounds in your steam library go to Manage and then CD Keys.

I got two keys and I added the correct key in the upgrade and still get invalid.
So it still register as a Free account.

It just say that they key has already been used or is invalid.

which is strange as i just got the VTT.

You only activate the key once.

Now that you have done that, go to your Order History Fantasy Grounds - My Orders (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/myorders.php)
Copy the License key shown there for your ultimate upgrade to your clipboard.
Start FG, go to Settings
Enter your license key in the field (from your Order History)
Enter your username and password and click LogIn, then Save
Now Click Update on FG.
Do you still see Free?

I could be wrong since something may have changed; but you don't need to activate your key from the store. Start Fantasy Grounds and click on settings and add your license key into the top box. The click save. In the next screen click on update and once that is done you should see that your client has updated to Ultimate.

Here are the official steps, generally the key activation link is for third party publishers and such, like Paizo, etc.

Copy and paste your Stream License into the Fantasy Grounds Settings area as described in the link below. Then sync our account, and then update.
