I can't run encounters. Monsters don't populate to the CT correctly (only one of many show up and no stats). This is regardless of being Legacy or 2024.
Loaded compiled logs.
Thanks for ruining my Friday Night game.

You are running a pile of extensions which either have not been updated or an update has been posted by someone not the author on the forum threads.

There is something desperately wrong with this update. Don't you guys test this stuff?

Really should have made new, completely separate ruleset for D&D 5.whatever-this-is (Which I will not be using anyway because it's a step backward) and left 5E ALONE! How hard would it have been to make clone of 5E and based the new on one on the clone?

As difficult as WotC made it to be, and WOTC did not want or license to create a separate game system. These challenges are prevalent all across the board on all digital platforms. FG is not the only one going through this.

As a HEAVY extension user myself... NEVER UPDATE BEFORE A GAME. Hell, I don't update unless either something is broken and the update claims to fix it, OR The FGU or Extension update adds something I REALLY want AND NEVER BEFORE A SESSION.
Honestly it is a FIRM table rule, if a player updates without DM permission, they do not play until the DM is comfortable to update.

48+ extensions that have not all been updated, that is on you NOT Smiteworks. They put in the warning not to run with extensions when you update and to not update on a game day. That is on you.

If I made the mistake of already updating FGU, is there a way to go back?
UPDATE: Nevermind. I found the extension that was causing my problem. "5E Add-on Chat Effects", here is the link to the forge page. https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/741/view (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/741/view)

There is not. If you are using extensions and getting errors disable them and then re-enable them one at a time until you find the culprit(s). Check that you have the most recent versions of the extensions (especially if you didn't get them from the Forge).

Update or stop using the extensions. Easy.

I've seen that reply in a couple of threads. If you like to spill that BS "answer", then you might as well go huff glue.
LOTS of campaigns have Extensions as their bases. You best save our time with that "works on my machine :)" stupid response

If you use extensions then there's some things that you can do in order to mitigate the possibility of them breaking when the there is a major update. The first is to keep an eye on the Laboratory channel where Moon Wizard announces forthcoming releases. The new code due for release is sent to the TEST channel to allow developers of extensions time to check that their extensions don't break or if they do have time to fix them before the changes go live. You can also switch to the TEST channel when this happens and check in a test campaign (not in any active campaigns please) whether your extensions still function. If you find one or more that doesn't then you can contact the extension author via the forum post for that extension to let them know.
Unfortunately not every extension developer pays attention to the Laboratory and some appear on the scene, write an extension or two, and then disappear from the community. Others have changes in circumstances which lead to them not having time to maintain their extensions.
If you use extensions that aren't on the Forge then you may have to be even more pro-active with those and make sure that you keep up to date with the extension developers forum threads. You can subscribe to all of the threads for each of the extensions you use and you'll get a notification when any posts are made. Often these threads will contain reports from others that have discovered issues.
If you use a lot of extensions (and anything over a handful is a lot) then you will bump up against the problem of them not working, either because the code changes or they conflict with another extension, much more frequently.
Smiteworks generously exposes their code to developers who want to write extensions and there's no doubt that there is a vibrant developer community who produce much that enhances the experience for some people. But they have no control over the extensions once written, nor over the actions of the developer when it comes to keeping extensions up to date with the current code. As I said above developers who pay attention to the Laboratory channel will get warning of impending changes and have the chance to make sure their code still works. However many either do not pay attention to that channel or don't have time when the changes are made to test things out. Hence it is the case that whenever there are updates extensions will break.

Its the correct response. You don't need ANY extensions to run FG. They are optional. If they need updating, contact the extension developer.
