Good morning,
It has been about a year since I ran games on FG. Lots of changes seem to have taken place. From what I have seen it has increased the complexity of running a purchased adventure.
It appears that now instead of just clicking on an encounter location and having the map and encounter come up, I now need to load the encounter into the combat tracker then locate and add the existing map in order to run.
Am I missing something? Is there a tutorial that I can watch to make this easier?
If not, it seems as though the ease of use has definitely taken some steps backwards.

Can you give more information on the module and ruleset you are attempting to run and a specific example from that module that is causing you to go through those steps?

D&D 5e. Lost Mines of Phandelver. Any encounter in the story.
Also purchased the newer expanded version of this adventure. Seems the same.
I think it’s across any and all adventures.

If we take as our example The Shattered Obelisk. We open up the Book (or if you prefer the story - but Book is best) and go to Chapter 1 and open up the Goblin Ambush page we see that the map is there in the page. We click on the map which pops it out and we can then share that with our players as normal. Linked to the text is the Goblin Ambush encounter which we can click on to open the encounter and then click on the Add to Tracker button to place the NPCs onto the map and to the CT. If we move further along to the Cragmaw Hideout we see in the page titled Cragmaw Hideout Locations the map of the dungeon. We click on the map which pops it out and find the pins on the map for each location that we can click on to open the page for that entry and any associated encounters are linked there and we can open those and add to the CT as normal.
Does this help? Or are you still having issues?

Just to be clear, the process hasn't changed in many years. You still need to add an encounter to the combat tracker. Each FG DLC converter may present the data in a slightly different way, but the steps to add an encounter to the CT and the map hasn't changed.

Where you here or around for when the story entries started to evolve into the books (reference manuals) instead of the pages of story entries? Most modules now run out of the book (reference manual) as opposed to story entries. Some older and third party content will still have the older story entry structure until they can be updated over time. Best of luck and stop by the FG Academy if you need any additional updates or help.
