I'm new to FG and running some demo scenarios to learn how to run 5e. I have a combat set up, and am trying to figure out spell targeting. I suspect I'm missing something obvious, but I can't seem to get spells to target enemies, and haven't been able to find any other help threads about this.

I have a wizard character, who has targeted an enemy NPC (Ctrl + click). No issues when I roll a melee attack from the actions page on the character sheet, but if use a spell from the actions page it just posts the name of the spell in the chat, but doesn't prompt a save or anything for the targeted NPC. Screenshot attached of the combat tracker / chat.

Thanks!

Casting a spell does not make the rolls for you automatically; since there are many instances where you want to divide the rolls, have multiple choices of effects, or otherwise.

When spells are added to the character sheet, they will generate a number of "action" entries below the spell for "attack/save", "damage", "heal" or "effect" actions. Clicking the button on those actions will apply the action to the targeted creatures (or dragging onto specific tokens).

More information on various parts of the character sheet found here (plus some video walkthroughs):

Ah that's it - I see now where you can expand the spell action entry to see the attack/damage rolls.

Thank you very much, and thank's for the character sheet references!
