I was really surprised to see Greyhawk as a world setting in the new DM's guide coming out soon. I didn't think WOTC had the rights to it. Something must have changed?

I don't know why they wouldn't have the rights. They acquired everything owned by TSR in 1997, including Greyhawk. But if they don't then I'm certain they have licensed them. They are not going to invest millions in something they don't own.

True that. I googled it awhile back and the source said it had rights to some of Greyhawk, not everything. At any rate, D&D sure has come full circle for it's 50th anniversary by including it!

Yea, It's been decades since I've played in Greyhawk. Looking forward to it :) Going to have to pull out the old box set!

The only thing they do not have the rights to is what Gary took with him in the mid-80s. Like Gord the Rogue and those related books.
They own the rights to everything otherwise.
