So when you pull up the SPELLS and you add a spell at the very bottom it list source. Is this just to tell where the spell came from or is does it have3 a mechanical purpose, like denoting who can take the spell?

It tells the ruleset who can use the spell. This information is used to create the spell lists when you click on the Spell Lists button at the top of the classes window. This is then used to populate the lists of spells that can be chosen by a particular class.

wo what if any spell using class can use it. do i list all or do i list each class seperated by commas?

You'll need to list each class or archetype that can cast the spell separated by a comma.
