This is the support thread for Ma's Total Recall extension. This extension is designed to allow a DM to search chat logs and to automatically rotate chat logs once the log exceeds a defined size.

Let me know if there are improvements or features you would like added.

Do you think it will be possible for the Player side to use this also? (I see that is not part of it now)

OR just the DM side, then Create Story and share that story is the best option?

Looking for ways for the players to view the chat log of what happened during the session prior to them logging in. We are entirely text based so giving late arrivals their own recap would be great.

Player side chat is a feature I hope to implement. I'm not certain how yet but I will be looking into it.
It doesn't create a story but it does allow the GM to selectively create a note from the desired found entries. That note can be shared.

Once a GM does a search, they can select the entry checkbox and click the create note button on the top to create a note.

Also, in case it isn't clear in the documents, you don't have to constrain the search to chat files in your current campaign. If you want to add chat files from other campaigns you can do so. That way you can recall what was said previously in another adventure.
