Could someone please explain why my fonts are all mess up. (See Attached)

I have ZERO extensions loaded. This problem happens all the time.

Thank you.

Do you have any sub-folders in the ruleset folder?
Can you Compile Logs and attach here?

Thanks. Those logs are empty. Can you start FG and pull up the windows that are having the font problem and then do compile logs from the console window?

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Yep, that's what I was looking for. It all looks good (though if you have the PHB, MM and DMG loaded, you don't need (or want) the SRD and Basic Rules, that will just duplicate things.)

All I can see that is different is that you are running a Mac M2 Max. Going to have to see if anyone else on that platform can reproduce your issue.
Maybe it's something to do with a graphics setting or driver. But I'm guessing there.

Thank you for your time.

For what is worth, M1 Mac user here and no probs. It’s conceivable that M2 may behave differently though it is seems unlikely.

That is odd; especially since the same font is being used in the main part of the text as in the headers/title, just at a different size. I haven't heard any other Mac users reporting, so not sure where this would be an issue. One option is that you could try deleting FG application and reinstalling to see if that helps.

I un-installed the game, deleted all the files and then reinstalled Fantasy Grounds.
But, it did not fix the problem.

If you resize the window, does it fix itself? I had that with one campaign for awhile.

It fixes a few of the fonts, but not all of them.

We're at a bit of a loss on this one; since it's not being reported by anyone else at this point and it's using the same fonts as the other text, just at a different size.

Is there anything unique to your system? (Keeping on an older OS; running unique display or extended display; etc?)

Regards,
JPG

Thank you for your response.

There is nothing special about my Mac.

I purchased it at the end of 2023 and I am running the latest operating system.

To be honest, I'm not smart enough to do anything unique to my Mac Studio.

Do you have more than one theme loaded by chance?

fmccurry

No.

I did not load any extensions or themes.

Have you tried to load a font extension, just to see what it does to the actual messed font? Perhaps hoping that, when unloaded, the base font fix itself (ok at this point it is magic thinking but worth a try anyway.

Are you running FGU with a UI scale applied? If you are unsure, type "/scaleui" in the chat window and it will report the UI scale that is being used. If you are using a value other than 100, can you set it to 100 and report the results? Thanks.

I am sorry it took so long for me to reply.

Changing the UI Scale to 100 did fix the problem.

I can barely see the screen, but it did fix the problem. I did make the fonts a bit bigger and it seems to be working.

Thank you

What setting did you have it on previously?

I had it on Scale = 280

Try it on an even number like 200. When you scale it by 280 its going to have elements that want to take up .8 or .6 of a pixel and it will have to make decisions about how to display that. It wont matter in a JPG image but it will cause blurriness in fonts.

Thanks for all your help.

It seems that 250 is as high as I can go before the fonts start to get distorted.
Even an even number like 300 some fonts gets distorted.

Sadly, since I am older and my eyes are not as good as they use to be, the larger fonts really help me to see better.

You might try lowering the resolution of your monitor at the o/s level. I do this on my laptop because for me, 4k on a 15" screen is resolution I just don't need. It helps that then I don't have to scale FG as high. It might help for you too.

Thank you, I will try that.

Thanks for the extra info, I have pretty good idea what I'm looking for now.
