View Full Version : Populating my 4e campaign with companion/familiar data from the Portable companion

Back in the day I used the DDI Parser for downloading the 4e data to make the modules to Fantasy Grounds. However, DDI Parser did not manage to download the companion/familiar data. Even after several attempts. So I put that aside to fix that at a later date. And then the 4e information was taken down from DDI.

But before that happened, I also used Compendium downloader version 3.6.1 to make the offline compendium just before Wizards removed the info from DDI servers. Now that I am setting up a major 4e campaign I wonder of there is a way to take the companion data from the portable compendium and make a FGU module? I have looked at the .js files in the portable companion and I can't make heads or tails of them.

I would appreciate it if someone has some information here that can help.

If you have the Portable Compendium you can use my Module Maker to create a module that just contains Familiars.

Here (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?73753-4E-Module-Maker-yet-another-Portable-Compendium-parser) is the the thread for the app.

The Github is here (https://github.com/skelekon/4e-portable-compendium-module-maker).

Instead of using one of the included commands, you can use
module_maker.exe --filename 4E_Familiars --library "4E Familiars" -F or similar to create a module with just the Familiars.

You can get me here or on Discord if you need any help.
