View Full Version : Transformers - Reference Manual (Players) No Longer Available

This is an issue for the Essence 20 Transformers rule set.

Under "Books" and "Modules", there is no longer a reference manual option under the "Players" version. Unfortunately, this was what contained all of the rules for playing the game. The GM version only contains Chapters 11 and 12, which contains information about Transformers locations and NPCs respectively, but no rules. I tried creating a new campaign, thinking that it might be specific to my existing campaign, but no luck. I have ensured that every available module is loaded into the campaign, so I do not believe it to be user error. The rules are not contained in the Sample Adventure either. I looked just in case.

When I first purchased the rule set on Steam, this reference manual was available. I just now noticed it was missing when someone asked for a rules clarification.

Troubleshooting steps so far:

1. I tried creating a new campaign with the Transformers rule set. Same result.

2. I tried using the openwindow command, for reference_manual reference.refmanualindex@HASE20TRANS-PLAYER. It returned a window, Book-Transformers RPG (Players), but there is no content.

Any help would be appreciated.

Reference manuals are now able to be accessed from the sidebar under Books. I would check there to see if you can access the rules.

The module is not available under Books either.

Hi again Imparu,

The new book window works off of "story" entries.
So I have re-exported the player module with the story entries included and its book should now appear.
We will be pushing this change out shortly, so you'll have to run the updater to get the updated module information.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience. A lot of this are changes to how we're handling modules and updates for the future crossplay with GI-JOE.
If you notice any other issues, please message me and I will be keeping an eye out for any messages from you this week. We'll get your campaign up and running again.

No worries, I understand with a new release, there are bound to be a few hiccups. I really appreciate your responses and the work that has been put in to the Transformers rule set. It was a big hit with my regular DND group as a fun switch-up to the normal routine. Any estimated time on when the changes will be deployed? We were targeting 05/15/2024 or 05/16/2024 for the next game, but if the player module won't be back in by then, I'll let them know we are rescheduling for next week.

Thank you again for all of your help! I appreciate the fast turnaround time.

You should be able to update and pull the changes through the FG Updater right now.

It is still missing from "Books" and "Modules" following my attempt to update. I run Fantasy Grounds Unity through Steam, if that makes a difference.

I don't know if this helps, but this is what I found in the update logs:

{"id":"3247","name":"HASE20TRANS","type":"PURCHASE","location":"2","downloadPath":"","isPublic":false,"isPurchase":false,"buildNums":["33"],"size":42676322}

A new build hadn't been pushed yet; I just pushed one manually in the patch system.

Awesome, thank you so much! I just ran the updater and confirmed that I am able to see the player module. I really appreciate all of your time and assistance!
