The Hindrance "Shambler, Slow" should force redraws of action cards greater than 5 and should ignore Jokers.
As you can see in this screenshot, the very slow big leaf swallower has the Shambler Hindrance, but it got a joker and kept it.
What's odd is that the code looks correct.

This came up in our Dead End game while someone else was GMing. I though maybe the zombies were cheating (being evil undead brain suckers), but I was able to repeat this in my own game in a different setting with a different creature.
To reproduce, add a new custom special ability to a creature and write "Shambler, Slow" into the name. You can see the Hindrance working by the text in the message window and that no card above 5 is ever used, except for jokers.

We survived the undead horde, but it would be nice if we could get them to play fair and avoid having the GM manually adjust their cards.

Thanks!

Don't know about the Joker thing, but how is Dead End going? I bought the first season but haven't had a chance to read it. I've been keeping it in mind for a potential fall campaign.

This is a bug. Recent changes to the CT might have been the cause. Should ping Moon Wizard.

I hope this does not break the offical SWADE rules.

Slow, Shambler Hindrance is different than Slow Hindrance. They are both implemented in the base ruleset.

Thank you Moon Wizard! That's working now. I had up to 17 redraws while testing and no jokers. Thanks!
And Hesitant is working as expected, so it wasn't affected by the fix.

Dead End went well. We had only four sessions. (It was an intermediary game between campaigns.) It uses lots of setting rules, so be prepared for that, especially if running on FGU.

Great news. I was more concerned with Hesitant Hindrance which does the same job in SWADE but does allow jokers. Slow, Shambler Hindrance is not a core SWADE rule. The Shambler Hindrance was put in a very long time ago to support War of the Dead products. We never got permission to do an Atomic Ninja Studio version called Dead End. So just never got back to looking at the Slow, Shambler Hindrance till now.

Now someone real should ask ANS if they will let us do fully supported FG store version of Dead End.
