Lost Key, am i SoL?

Tried searching the forums, but "key" is too short a word to be included in search. :(
I've recently done a format and reinstall of windows and (with the forethought that i'm prone to) i forgot to write down the key somewhere..

Is there any chance i could get my key back? Is this the best place to ask?

Edit: to clarify, my postmaster sends me a response that says "No mailbox by that name"
