View Full Version : Not able to drag\drop custom item and spell damage and saves?

Since the latest update, if I write my own items or spells, I don't seem to be able to drag the links to do damage or roll a save in my FGU.

Before when I would write something like "must make a Dexterity saving throw or suffer 2d10 force damage" I would both drag and drop "Dexterity saving throw" to force that roll and "2d10 force damage" to also do that.

Am I going crazy here or did something change? I am writing the prompts correctly, because sometimes I am just copying the official spell descriptions etc, and have been doing this for many many years now. I can still drag and drop things from actions, but not descriptions and items themselves?

Edit: I can't seem to drag ANY instances of damage or saves unless they're in the actions tab?

I'm not running any mods or add-ons.

Can you provide more information on where you are seeing this?

* Which ruleset (i.e. game system)?
* Which record window are you dragging from? (NPC, Character, Other?)
* Which field are you dragging from?

A picture of what you are trying to drag would be helpful in identifying several of these items.

Trying to drag from an item, eg: I made a sword that says "if this hits you may blah blah" and the "blah blah" was always a draggable action before. I can upload a picture, give me a moment.

Here's an image of the item. I used to be able to just drag the force damage, etc, directly from the item.

Here's fireball - an official spell. I can't drag\drop the 8d6 fire damage anymore. I can only do it from actions, which is super problematic, especially when making baddies on the fly and needing quick drag\drops.

I can however drag it from an NPC sheet:

It seems like something broke dragging from items and the spellbook, specifically.

I honestly can't remember if you could drag saves, damage etc directly from a spell or item. You can do this from an NPC trait or action or if a spell is added to an NPC and as far as I can remember that is the only way; unless there's an extension which allowed you to do that - or in fact I am misremembering.

Ditto to above—I don't remember this ever being something you could do from items or spells, only from NPC sheet entries.
