I recently bought the players handbook module (5E) for FGU on steam and am wondering how to locate its files on my computer. I checked the modules folder of fantasy grounds and was unable to locate it. I can access the content in FGU for games that I host but would like to also use it as a reference to create some of my own modules and homebrew content. Any help would be appreciated.

Once you have sync'd your Steam account with your FG account and then run an Update in FG the file will be downloaded into your FG Vault folder. It is encrypted and is not accessible outside of FG. To access it in FG, load a 5E campaign and go to Library > Modules and Load it.

Inside of FG, you can copy individual parts of it or just refence to them. What are you looking to do? Create items or classes or?

Some suggestions https://tinyurl.com/ycqxldah as well as there are video tutorials on created classes etc Video Tutorials and Feature Highlights - Fantasy Grounds Customer Portal - Confluence (atlassian.net) (https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/1060077590/Video+Tutorials+and+Feature+Highlights)

Look at the 5E SRD .mod files in the <FG App Data>\modules directory for examples of 5E data. DD5E SRD Bestiary.mod, DD5E SRD Data.mod and DD5E SRD Magic Items.mod.

I am mostly looking for how I might structure data from a small program that I make to create a streamlined transfer to a FGU Module without having to jump through hoops to reinput data that is already available. For right now I believe that the last reply to my thread should work enough for me at this moment and I will figure out the other options as they come.

Thank you everyone for your help!

Or you can create some dummy data in a campaign and export to a module - then review the module for the data structure.

Normally official content like a player's handbook are in the vault and protected Dat files. However, the mod file example might be your best example and solution. None of the official books are available to be or licensed to be deconstructed.

Albeit delayed, Thanks for all the input! I ended up creating examples of all the entities I would want the data structure of and exporting and unpacking the .mod file
