My Dm puts in a ton of effort and time into our game and my character is using the castle and ruins book to build a small stockade for the party to use as a protection point so we can have a valley for farming without all the free farmers ending up gristle stuck between a trolls last two adjacent teeth or feeding the next generation of Warg cubs. I got the blueprint all drawn up and all the prices and time worked out so I thought I'd take it the extra step and build the map too, however i run a demo version of the game and hence don't have access to the Gm side of fantasy grounds so was wondering if anyone had suggestions for 3rd party programs with line of sight I can use to build it and then my Dm can just import it.

Best regards, a trouble making mage.

Edit: Thank you for all feedback!!

I use Dungeon Alchemist, which allows me to quickly create maps that can be exported to Fantasy Grounds with line of sight and even lighting. It exports as JPG or FG-compatible WEBM. I highly recommend it.

Edited to add: It's not suitable for really large maps, though.

Any program that can export Universal VTT files (.uvtt) can be imported into Fantasy Grounds with walls and lighting. There may be others, but to the best of my knowledge, these programs export UVTTs: Arkenforge, Dungeondraft, Dungeon Fog, and Dungeon Alchemist.

+1 for Arkenforge. It has native XML export, and just released WEBM export to go along with it, so you'll get animated maps AND line of sight,

You can now add MapForge (http://www.mapforge-software.com/) to the list of mapping apps that can create UVTT files. It doesn't, however, include walls and lighting. Just the properly-dimensioned embedded map.

Believe it or not Between all the dungeon crawls and the problems of finding skilled labor on a lawless pirate island swarming with undead I still haven't gotten around to actually building the damn keep. I've also been second guessing it's design as my most feared enemies are no longer the tribes of hillmen coming down to count coup, warlords of troll armies, prowling suits of undead armor blipping in and out of the ethereal plane or over leveled Litches, but in fact the Gorcrow flocks taking roost wherever they damn please and over charging me to add them to my defense force and the endless horde of hiveminded rats that keep pillaging all my loot and making swarm attacks with initiatives I can't hope to beat, the swarms of insects dealing tiny A criticals as they flood though town serving as a bad omen of something horrendous going on in the world that we couldn't care less about. With redesigns likely I invite and encourage any and all suggestions and thank those who have added their knowledge to the list!

Best regards, a trouble making mage.

I really can't say enough about Dungeon Alchemist, as to size? we made the old Undermountain maps (think poster size maps for each level) in 4-5 parts, no problem on a reasonable gaming machine and that was about 2 years ago when they were fresh off their kickstarter and in EARLY Beta. the team is very good and they update every 1-3 months. LoS, lighting, doors... AI room creation, indoor and outdoor...

I've used Arkenforge for years now. Still my choice for making maps for Fantasy Grounds. It exports to many formats, including Fantasy Grounds. Even WEBM support. Now I can go back and add animated assets to my maps for FGU. :-)

I just realized reading these posts that Dungeondraft, the mapping program I've been using for three years, exports to VTT. I just did one and it has all light of sight done automatic and the grid lines up. And I've been making these manually!
