I have seem some modules where the reference manual has a section that is a list of NPC and in there it has a link to the NPC section for that specific creature but in the reference manual it also shows the stat block and such like it would in the printed book.

My question is how do you get that part into the reference manual? Is it a copy/paste from something like a web page?

Also, in the reference manual you can open the page entry and there is a copy record content; but it doesn't seem to copy anything (because my clipboard stays the same). Is this because the entry is locked (and can't unlock it)?

I have been utilizing the Author extension to create the reference manual but it does not seem to do anything like that when the reference manual is generated.

Can you provide a source and/or screen shots of what you are hoping to reproduce? Knowing exactly what you want to do will give others an easier time of understanding what you want.

The module Tome of Beasts 3 is setup this way. If you look in the reference manual under A then Abassy; you will see that it shows the stat block for the creature inside the reference manual.

You'll need to manually enter the statblock text and format appropriately. There're some tricks to formatting the text, see video Forty Six here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?55797-How-do-I-in-Unity but that won't help with the finer formatting for a statblock.

If you use the NPC importer built into Fantasy Grounds the NPC stat block is reproduced in the notes tab all formatted just like the book. So all you need to do is select that section from the notes tab and paste it into a reference page. If you watch video thirty seven in that same list Trenloe posted you’ll see how I do it there. (You still need some text cleanup but it is optional really).

Oh, also when you click on the copy button it does sent the text to the clipboard and if you open a new reference page there should be a paste button which you can click on to paste in the copied text. (Might be a right click and select paste on the page - not at my computer to check.)
